Repairs and Maintenance

NSH is responsible for maintaining the structure and exterior of the property to a good standard and tenants are responsible for internal decoration and their own fixtures and fittings. Tenants and leaseholders are responsible for reporting repairs that need to be carried out to homes, block of flats or estates.

From February 2006, NSH will be investing millions on planned programmes of works to ensure the tenants are living in warm, secure and modernised homes.

Password system

When you report a repair you can agree your own password with the Repairs Hotline operator who will pass it onto the contractor. This means that you can be sure of their identity when they visit you.

Contractor code of practice

All the contractors who carry out work for NSH are bound by the Customer Care Code of Practice which covers:

  • quality of workmanship
  • image
  • conduct to avoid
  • identification
